This series is awesome!! This is what got me into anime!! I still havent been able to see all the episdes yet though :( Im about 7 or 8 short I believe. Ive seen all The New Generation(Invid War) and most of SDF and Southern Cross. My fave character is still gotta be Maximillion Sterling and Minmei is a Bitch! I just had to get that one out of my system. Anyway since theres no ROBOTECH forum I decided I need to start a thread for my favorite series of all time....Now i just hope someone replies. PLEASE! :P

I haven't seen the first generation of Robetech.. but seen nearly all of 2nd gen, and abit of 3rd gen!
I really liked the bike they used in 3rd gen!! way cool, i wish i have one of those for Xmas presents! lol... =)
Overall, I like the 2nd gen of Robetech the best! =)

Ah Robotech. This is probably the series that first got me hooked on mecha. I've seen most of the first generation, some of the second generation, and all of the third generation. I've also read the books from the first thru third generations.

I really don't like Minmei either. Max and his wife were probably my favorite characters. Rick was ok too once he got his act together.

Da 1st anime I sow! and i liked it

OMG!! Youve never heard of ROBOTECH!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!! Well its a Mecha anime about aliens and a new technolgy called ROBOTECHNOLOGY which runs off the essence of a plant called PROTOCULTURE that originally came from an alien planet called Optera. Well because the videos arent being made anymore(Im waiting for DVD remakes...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!) you could try your local Blockbusters. Most of them still have the videos for rent although they dont have all of it and usually you cant find the beginning and Thhiird Generation tapes but its worth a try. If your interested you should read the novels by Jack McKinney. They follow the same storyline although McKinney does take some liberties especially with the breaks between the robotech wars but I really enjoyed the novels and am still reading them actually(just finished Southern Cross) Also if you liked Evangelion Im pretty sure you would like ROBOTECH albeit its not as sad and dark but its an awesome mecha anime with a lot of mystery and very very good combat scenes. (They say if you liked ROBOTECH youll love EVANGELION so I figure the opposite must be true to :P) Well I hope you tryout the novels or rent the videos. ROBOTECH is still one of the biggest franchises the US had and no anime fan should go without at least giving it a try. Laters!

Veritech or Valkyrie is what they call the jets in the first and 2nd generation. During the invid wars they are more advanced models of the verutechs called Alpha Fighters.

When I was a young-one and living in Malaysia (yes, it's near Australia! anybody heard of it?? :D), I was watching Robotech on tv (this may not seem much to you, but it blows my mind how a place like malaysia could be showing american dubbed anime in the country ON TV).

anyway, I've forgotten a lot about it, but I heard ADV has the rights, and dvds are coming out. I'm sooooooo getting these. :D

WOOHOO!!! I cant wait for those DVD's but I hope your not talking about the same thing I heard.....I heard they were going to be releasing MACROSS which is the anime Carl MAcek used to make generation one of ROBOTECH. Their not the same thing. Very similar with many of the same characters but a different storyline and has nothing to do with ROBOTECH or SOUTHERN CROSS and MOSPEADA.

But hey Id still really like to see MACROSS and how Macek changed the story to match with the oter 2 series.
