SDF Macross yet again but through ADV's suprisingly good dub (i can't think of one voice that pisses me off so far!)

Eureka Seven as well and one day I'll start on Ergo Proxy, hope these 300 meg dls are worth it!

I just got around to watching "Slayers Next" on my computer. I've had it for a while but I never really had the urge to go watch it until recently.

I also plan on watching "Sorcerer Hunters" soon, and probably go rewatch "Original Dirty Pair" again.

Otogi Zoshi Eps 1-26 : I saw a trailer for this series a little while back, & it intrigued me enough to order the complete R1 boxset. Have to say that the trailer is rather misleading as it only showed clips from the Heian arc, no mention of the Tokyo arc, but that made the series all the more enjoyable as a whole IMO. The animation & art work has a washed out feel to it, the Heian arc in particular reminded me of the art in the vastly inferior Kai Doh Maru. The actual series itself is only 24 episodes long, as the last two episodes are TV specials that would have been better served inserted into the series IMO. The story (the Heian arc is based on real Japanese historical figures & events), though relatively simple is very cleverly woven together, & I enjoyed the show a great deal, a very cool series. Really like the opening & ending themes to the Tokyo arc too.

The 12 Kingdoms Eps 1-45: After two years of nagging by IAL, I finally succumbed & shelled out for this series. A school girl is whisked away to another world, to become a queen of one of the 12 Kingdoms. Sounds like a fairly generic fantasy staple of anime, but this series rises above other shows of the same genre through it's detailed storyline, rich background & fantastic character development. The design of the 12 Kingdoms is very reminesecent of feudal China & the series as a whole reminded me a lot of all the live action Hong Kong martial arts TV serials I used to watch when I was a teenager. Awesome series, it's a great character-driven show, but I do have one major gripe; where's the hell is the rest of it? The show ends very abruptly, & it seems as if there was more story to be told. After the awesome third arc, the ending (or lack of) is kind of a let down.

Bastard!! Eps 1-6 : A fantasy anime where the hero's main motivation for conquering the world is so that he can have all the women to himself. It's a very silly series where the characters & places have names of heavy metal bands as the artist of the original manga (& still on-going) series is a huge fan; it has over the top violence & is very ecchi in places, but it doesn't tax the brain too much.

I wish they would too. The 12 Kingdoms would have been better served concluding with the third arc, instead of tantalising us with an additional interlude, & then ending it with no closure & a lot of loose ends. >_<
