The Gimp lets you edit images in the same way photoshop does, whereas photobucket is an image storage website like imageshack.

Yes.

It's only an image host. Don't mistake it for something like Photoshop or TheGimp. You upload images. It hosts them. You show off the purdy pictures. That's all.

Uhhh..... it hosts images.

You upload an image onto their server then you can put that image anywhere you want using the links/formats they provide. That's as simple as I can explain it.
