Cute Anime Girl sketch

Set aside about two hours this evening for some totally random drawing, most of what I produced was not "scan-worthy", but I ended up liking this one a lot for whatever reason. I know it's flawed, but the whole expression is nice.

I need some stuff to CG later in the summer, and I think I might add some sort of a background and do this one. Of course, it would help if I could fix the errors in the original sketch first. C&C appreciated.

That's not Aeka, is it? *squints at cowlick*

Anyway, she looks much younger than some of your other sketches. The eyes are lovely and the cheeks are cute. She has no full, pouty lips as in your other pics, which I think is a good thing for this one. Something about her right arm bothers me, though I can't pinpoint what it is. I also think, from this perspective, the pocket thing on her lower torso is positioned a little too far to her left.

^_^ Cute butterfly thing. Or is it a moth?

And if anyone thinks I don't know what I'm talking about, you may be right.... I'm home with a fever... x.x and it may be affecting my judgment and stuff.

VERY cute! Her eye bothers me... Her right eye, our left.... It reminds me of Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart"....

Heh, but not quite so freaky. Anyways, it just looks cracked out...

But anyways! Sorry! CUTE!

That's a very nice picture Yui, reminds me of some of the character designs for 'older' animes out there. Neat.
Her left arm looks a bit weird. If you were to hold it like that, her upper arm would also be more visible and not hidden behind her breast and suspender as it is now.
I really like her facial expression and her hairstyle, her head might be just a tad big though, but it's not really noticeable.

I definitely think you should color this and give it a BG, it would make a nice finished piece I believe. ^_^

Thanks guys, I'm fixing her arm as we speak......or attempting to . I was going to wait until summer to color it, but I may as well start it now and see what happens.......

*Sigh* I've been working on this for a while with no end in sight, I was hoping to maybe finish tonight b/c I have so much work to do this weekend, but 'twas not to be. Anyone, if anyone was curious about how it's going, I made a little "preview" thingy...
Don't look if you want the finished version to surprise you ^^.

Preview looks shiny and the drawing benefits a bit from the clean up.

This isn't finished yet, but I need to stop working on it b/c I have papers to get to. Keep in mind that the background and her overalls still aren't finished, and I might want to do more on her hair.

You've done a superb job with this drawing... The only main criticism that I have for this particular picture (which really does look absolutely sensational!) is that I think her head is a bit too large in comparison with her body (the shoulders don't look quite big enough) Aside from that, you've truly done a sensational job with this picture! Well done! I love the design as well as the colors. ^^

The square chin makes the face a bit too masculine in my opinion. Either its that or I'm going gay and think every woman drawn recently looks like a guy @_@

By the way check your pms. I sent a response our conversation that I would like to hear you feedback on if you can spare the time.

hmm... is it just me or has your style really cleaned up? I think i am prone to like sketches a lot, so the first one really does it for me more than the CG.
Aside from the comment about the head being kind of big (the problem i always fall into) its awesome.

Very nice ... the others have mentioned the minor problems that I noted.

Keep up the good work!
